My Hawaii Honeymoon Cruises Experience

Travelling to Hawaii on my honeymoon was one of the best memories I have. We booked one of the Hawaii honeymoon cruises available through Internet and prepared the travel with much anxiety. Preparing ahead our honeymoon was great because later on the details of the wedding would overwhelm us.

A couple of days after our wedding we departed to our selected Hawaii honeymoon cruise. The ship was big and the crew was there to greet us. My wife had wanted the special package and at our room a bottle of champagne and a chocolate with a love theme awaited us. Our room was not the best aboard the ship but was well decorated with the souvenirs the cruise line gave us.

The experience of travelling on a Hawaii cruise for your honeymoon is unique. I had been in the Big Island before, but this was another thing entirely. You don’t even notice you are sailing from one island to another because there are so much fun things to do inside the ship! My favorite island was Maui, I simply love the beautiful beaches, but after seeing Kauai, me and my wife wished we had married there.

I won’t go into intimate details here, but it was beautiful. That’s why I always recommend couples to take one of the Hawaii honeymoon cruises available. Right now the prices have dropped considerably and if you are a US citizen you won’t even have to get special documents to travel to Hawaii.

Hawaii honeymoon cruises are offered by many lines. If you search one of my previous posts, you will see that I have gathered them and in another post you will find the different extras each Hawaii cruise line offers for a honeymoon or romantic packages.

The duration of your honeymoon is something you’ll want to determine first. I took a Hawaii honeymoon cruise for 12 days, but there are cruise lines with short trips of 7 days if you don’t have enough budget or if you have few days before getting back to work. The sacrifice is totally worth it as the honeymoon is one of the most special events in the married life.

Finding Hawaii Honeymoon Cruises Packages

Well, now you’ve probably decided that you want to go to Hawaii, and it is time to start looking for Hawaii honeymoon cruises packages! Fortunately, the Internet is a great tool for you to begin your quest, as there are many web sites offering Hawaii honeymoon cruises information.

The first place to start is by getting to know the different cruise lines with a Hawaiian route, among the most popular ones are Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess, Carnival Norwegian Cruises and Celebrity, they also all have romantic and honeymoon packages. We’ve already talked about them before on one of my March posts.

The choice among many Hawaii honeymoon cruises is completely yours and will be mostly based on what experience you want to have. There are cruises that are catered mostly to an adult audience while others welcome families and kids. Alternatively you can set sail on one of the specialty Hawaii honeymoon cruises, these are small lines where only couples can go and are prepared to give you a complete romantic experience.

Planning ahead is very important, and it can pay off to book well in advance your desired Hawaii honeymoon cruises, as cruise lines offer lower prices if you book well in advance. You can also save money the other way, by taking a Hawaiian last minute cruise, but I know that this is no the best way to go if you are planning your honeymoon.

All inclusive Hawaii honeymoon cruises packages will help you stay in control of your spending and include things such as food and non-alcoholic drinks, you will have to add them the cost of the honeymoon package which varies from cruise line to cruise line.

Budget and time are very important when looking for a cruise package. I know that after visiting Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the big island you’ll want to live in there, but the reality for many of couples is that they have to get back to work. Yeah... It’s a pain the neck... so if you can set a full week to sail –Hawaii, do it! It is totally worth it.

Ok, so we’ve seen Hawaii honeymoon cruises lines, plans, itineraries and budget. Before choosing one package, you’ll want to read all about the restriction, rules and conditions. A little reading can save you a lot of trouble later when all you want to do is enjoy your honeymoon.
